Has WordPress got a Ghost?
Don’t panic if you are using wordpress to power your website, some of the most popular sites in the world incorporate the wordpress CMS engine. Sites like the New York Times, Mashable, ebay, 9to5 mac and Attwood Digital all use wordpress and develop it for their needs.
But on the horizon a new kid could be soon on the block called “Ghost” which is being developed by one of the people who was one of the team responsible for the development of wordpress UI, John O’Nolan, so we’re watching this with keen interest to see how it develops.
“An open source blogging platform which makes writing pleasurable and publishing simple.”
Another thing that we like is that he his crowd sourcing for funds to back the development of Ghost on Kickstarter so if you believe in it you can back it. The interesting thing is they put a small figure to raise which has already exceeded there initial expectations! As we checked this on the 3rd May at 10.53 GMT they
Certainly the specifications look great and John is known for his User Interface skills and that shows in the amount of people that are willing to back projects like this on Kickstarter, only a small percentage get the funding and they need the full funding or the project does not get it, so to have exceeded the initial requirements is very impressive.
We will be watching and looking forward to playing with Ghost when it gets released
Good luck to John and his team!
