Drayton Bird at Christmas 09: Video No. 4

Drayton brings up a very important point here, one close to my heart..

I have met an extraordinary amount of people that focus on the latest trick or fad whilst ignoring the fundamentals of their business: find a hungry market and sell to it.
It’s that simple.

Mark
The founder of Attwood Digital, Mark is a digital marketing veteran having been working online since before the dotcom boom. He created the world's first online skip hire service in 2003, has created multiple online courses, lectured on digital marketing and even written a book on the subject. He is also an ICO advisor and crypto-enthusiast.

  1. This is so very true.
In most Asian cultures they have a deeply embedded recipe for success:
1: Choose a Subject matter (In business this will be the hungry market)
    2: Study (Market research)
    3: Practice (Content + repetition)
The only difference between success/failure or great ability/low ability is the FOCUS on 2 & 3
Choosing a great subject matter and/or great market to feed is, well, great. But it is 2 & 3 that will determine success or failure.
So many people are skipping along from market to market trying to find their goldmine.
This is not to be confused with a site/business/student that is very successful in one field, and EXPANDS onto another. (e.g. Tesco)
Rather, I’m talking about businesses/students that skip quickly onto another subject matter after a short while when they feel success is not immediately at their door. Which by the way, I have been guilty of doing in the past, which is why I can truely vouch for this method.

  2. As someone who is still relatively new to learning about the whole internet business I have come across many many guru’s who do exactly as you describe above – in an attempt to get more money out of you. However meeting Mark Attwood was a lucky break for me as he talks sense and get you on the right road.
Thanks and keep up the good work, and a happy and prosperous 2010
